Phase Identification
Because most portable power distribution systems intermix single-phase
and 3-phase systems, it is frequently important to know how the
incomming phases are translated to the output conductors. The most
common example of this is a quad string, which uses a 3-phase supply
system and 3 separate single-phase outputs. The same is true for many
panel types as well.
A standard function of the PD Tester (which can be disabled if desired)
is to identify not only the phase number(s), but also the
company-specific color coding scheme.
When a cable or panel is tested, the phase(s) that the outlet are
utilizing are identified with an informational message in the results
window, and also graphically to the right of the information window.
The graphic icons indicate the phase numbers (A, B, or C) as well as
the user-programmable color codes for those phase numbers.
