Because of the versatile nature of how the tester analyzes equipment,
it is not limited to just testing extension cables. The tester was
designed to be able to test quad strings and panels as well. In
addition to simply checking for proper connections, the PD Tester
provides additional information about panels and quad strings.
The tester will identify which phase number the circuit is
originating from. This is important to ensure that a 3-circuit quad
string is utilizing all three phases of the 5-wire supply circuit.
The tester will also identify proper color coding for the
specific phase at the outlet. This is extremely useful for identifying
and verifying color code at individual quad boxes along a string. This
color coding function can be turned off, or you can customize the color
coding scheme to match the scheme that your facility uses.
Testing panels is as easy as testing quad strings. A
supply signal is provided to the inputs of the panel, and individual
circuits are examined with the tester for proper wiring and even phase
sequence and color coding.
